Cars were originally an accident for me. I had always avoided drawing them at car shows because I knew the process would be much more challenging and time consuming.
while working a three day festival one summer, there was no steady portrait business and I was afraid the entry fee was a lost investment. luckily a big part of the festival was a car show just a block away, so I left my spot, went down the block, and tripled my investments within 5 hours… the sunburns were worth it.
from then on I made sure to keep up with car shows on Facebooks event calendar, as well as charging accordingly for the 20 minutes I spend drawing each car.
